WWE NXT star Tony D'Angelo warns title contenders he's on a 'path of destruction'

Tony D'Angelo eyes NXT title on path of destruction

Tony D’Angelo challenges NXT champion Joe Hendry in a fatal four-way match at Stand & Deliver on Saturday. The match also features Ricky Saints and Ethan Page, with the NXT Championship at stake. D’Angelo warned his opponents of a path of destruction in an interview ahead of the event.

D’Angelo returns to title contention nearly a year after stablemate Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo betrayed him at the previous Stand & Deliver. The Family stable dissolved in July, and D’Angelo resumed action in December with a new look. He defeated Cutler James and then Dion Lennox at Vengeance Day earlier this month.

D’Angelo, a one-time NXT North American champion, two-time NXT tag team champion and Heritage Cup winner, previously fell short against Ilja Dragunov at Stand & Deliver in Philadelphia. "I’m no stranger to it. I went to war with Ilja Dragunov in Stand & Deliver in Philly. I came up a little bit short on that one. But, look, I am on a path of destruction right now," D’Angelo said. "I don’t think there’s anything that’s gonna stop me from getting what I want and it’s the NXT Championship."

"I learned that you can’t put all your faith and your trust in others," D’Angelo added. "You got to go with your gut. I did that with The Family. I did it with ‘Stacks’ and then you saw how that turned out. It can be your closest people. You never know. You got to trust your gut. Go with what you think is right and I think that can’t really lead you down the wrong path." He enters the match feeling he holds the advantage.

Stand & Deliver airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET from The Factory in St. Louis, Missouri, on YouTube.
