Claims of Tiger Woods rollover crash and DUI arrest in Florida unverified

Unconfirmed reports have circulated claiming Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash on March 27, 2026, in Jupiter Island, Florida, leading to his arrest on DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a test charges after authorities suspected impairment.[1]

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder has issued no such statement or news conference confirming the incident, contrary to reports attributing comments to a "John Budensiek."[2] No official match reports, disciplinary updates or primary sources from the Martin County Sheriff's Office support the claims of impairment tests, refusal of urinalysis or alcohol-free findings.

U.S. President Donald Trump was quoted in a pool report expressing concern for Woods, describing him as a "very close friend" and an "amazing person" with "some difficulty," stating he only knew of the accident.[1] No video or official transcript of remarks upon arrival in Miami was located.

Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion from the United States,[3][4] was last involved in a confirmed rollover crash on February 23, 2021, near Rancho Palos Verdes, California. His Genesis GV80 SUV struck a median curb before rolling over, attributed to excessive speed of 84-87 mph in a 45 mph zone. No impairment was found.[5][6]

Woods underwent multiple surgeries for leg injuries from the 2021 crash. Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on May 6, 2019.[7][8]

No verified reports link Woods romantically to Vanessa Trump, ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., or confirm her attendance at recent TGL events with daughter Kai Trump.
